Honey Mahogany, 2021 mahogany, felt, flocking, brass, 21.5" X 12.25" X 4"

This sculpture is a tribute, mini-monument, portrait made in honor of the activist, San Francisco politician, and queer icon Honey Mahogany," the first transgender person to serve as Chair of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee, and in 2024 was appointed director of the San Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives. This sculpture is part of my Many-liths series exploring the diagonal as a manifestation of queer politics. There is no such thing as a monolith.
